National Catholic Committee for Girl Scouts and Camp Fire is a constitutive member of the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry (NFCYM)—an organization of affiliated dioceses and collaborating organizations. NFCYM's stated purpose is to “serve those who serve the young Catholic Church.” NFCYM LogoThrough NCCGSCF the NFCYM furthers their mission by fostering the development of youth ministry throughout the church.

NFCYM and GSUSA: Updated Position Statement, February 15, 2012

A continuing dialogue exists between GSUSA and the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry, through the National Catholic Committee on Girls Scouts and Camp Fire. Several issues have arisen in the past two years that have caused some leaders and organizations to question the relationship between GSUSA and the Catholic Church. See the following for further information, based on our mutual communications and knowing that not all issues affect every diocese or council:

 

Our Work

Part of the work of the NCCGSCF is to oversee Catholic religious recognition programs for young people in Scouting programs. We also endeavor to assist adult leaders as they work with our youth.
